a race of four-armed, thin, orange-skinned humanoids that dominate the continent of the east. They are famed for their ability to perform complex tasks with their additional arms, particularly operating two bows at once.

Stats: Reflex +5, Knowledge +2, Luck +1, Strength -2, Toughness -2, Intelligence -2, Charisma -1, Mana -1. Cesslin hands are nimble and excellent for multi-tasking, but they can be somewhat closed-minded and aren't especially strong.

Anatomy: the cesslin biology is mostly differentiated by their skeleton and brain makeup. Their ribcage is taller than humans' to house their second set of arms, which gives them a lanky appearance. They have a second pair of shoulders towards the bottom of their ribs, which are looser than the upper shoulders and allow the arms to revolve completely around. Cesslin brains are split into two portions, with the second part being an interconnected series of physical control commands. This is reserved mostly reserved for their second set of hands, allowing cesslins to do manual tasks with hardly any concentration at all, and aiding them in working with both sets of hands at a time. Cesslins who lose one or more of their arms will often feel shamed, most likely a result of their pride on their arms, or sometimes theorized to be a depression created by an especially strong phantom limb sensation from their secondary brain.

Genders: among all the races, cesslins may have the strongest sexual barriers in their culture. There are no laws binding the genders into their places, but cesslins are very traditional creatures and they can prove to be just as hard to break for them. Males are mostly trained to be capable in diplomacy as well as archery, mostly finding careers that employ one or the other. Women find themselves in more mild jobs, as they are more commonly taught in history, music and art. Females are also more likely to learn magic than males are, and normally find jobs as entertainers, teachers, or simply artisans. This is not based on any sense that cesslin women are weaker than the men, simply that each role is necessary in its own way and was assigned some time ago to assure that they got done. A cesslin is technically free to break these standards, but they will have a somewhat harder time because of their schooling, and may be strangely received by other cesslins.

Youth: Cesslins are born like human beings, but the complexity of the cesslin's body type makes the task exhausting and a mother may be indisposed from activity for weeks. There are a number of cesslin nursemaids always at hand, ready to care for and feed the children, as a cesslin female never stops producing milk. Cesslin babies spend a long time learning to use their numerous arms, and will normally learn to walk before they can use them in a way seen as satisfactory to adults. Much of cesslin childhood is spent being educated, and while cesslins have a general fondness for learning, they are also known to be quite energetic compared to other children. By the age of 18, a cesslin male is expected to be more than capable in archery, and a female expected to play at least one instrument or perform some form of art masterfully.

Diet: cesslin can eat anything, much like humans. They have a tendency to favor growing their own food, which is primarily made up of a boldly orange yam call paupet. It is believed to have been their staple food for so long that it led to the color of the cesslins' skin tone. At the same time, cesslin are proud of their talents as hunters, and so will hunt mostly out of practice, though still gladly use the meat and skins for their people.

Names and Language: cesslins take pride in their names as well, which sound quite alien and complicated to most. They often have a bouncy intone to them, or an onomatopoeia affect. Cesslin are also among the very few races that bother to ever use middle names, though these are not always used. Names include Rabbler Kel Peff, Muss DelBlubble, or Lud Pellophent. Cesslin language is quick and smooth, and their language is written in short vertical columns, so that one hand can work on the next word just beneath it.

Territory: cesslins have one of the larger established kingdoms in terms of territory, ruling most of the eastern island. They call their country Cess, and are one of the most successful economic powers in the world. Cesslin villages or kingdoms rarely ever exist outside of their homeland, though the cesslin encourage a number of their people to leave and travel the outside world for educational and diplomatic purposes.

Psychology: cesslin pride is a key factor behind much of their workings. Crime is quite low, because they have strong faith in their ways and see little reason to deviate from it. They also can be somewhat stubborn as a result, though they are also encouraged to learn and change. They still maintain their original traditions whenever, they simply apply their newer lessons on top of them. Their additional brainpower applied to their second set of hands also gives them a nature for multitasking, and so they often find themselves uncomfortable with being idle. They often adopt several hobbies or twitching habits. This also encourages a preference for polytheism.

Technology: cesslin normally feel little need for very advanced technology. Few things that require a power source are found around Cess, most likely relating to the cesslin trust in tradition. Cesslins have pride in a hard days work, but again, it is a matter of lack of a will to try rather than an outlawing of such ideas. Those who do attempt a more hi-tech career or lifestyle often find themselves more than capable of utilizing it, and their multiple arms make them speedy and detailed craftsman.

Politics/Law: cesslin law encourages as much peace as can be achieved. Violence is punished, though harsh punishments are less common in Cess. This is a factor affected by the aforementioned cesslin pride. They have a democracy and monarchy hybrid, where a monarch is elected whenever the predecessor dies. They then serve for their lifespan, able to correct their predecessors, though left respecting their peoples' wishes. It is a complex system that largely relies on the honor and decency that the country works so hard to promote. Men have primarily been the leaders of Cess, but they have recently been shocked to find that a woman (one Gel Marodin) has found her way into office.

Religion: cesslins almost invariably follow Ezra of the ten hands. Likewise, she is almost exclusively praised by them, or at least citizens of Cess. She encourages them to be diverse and wide-traveled and widely learned, and so they often find polytheism a draw. Personal preferences and careers can affect who they follow. Morlai, Shass, Zdur, or Midor are common, and A is often used as a figure to support patriotism, honor, and order. Jad is a fairly common idol for hunters and male solders, and women's appreciation of the arts lead them to Purill. They are also one of the few races to see appreciation in Bahamutt outside of dragons, admiring his honor and responsibility.

Entertainment: cesslin use their gender-based talents as hobbies as well as responsibilities. They often appreciate the arts and family events. They also have a number of unique holidays, including the Blessing of the Hands festival. This is often seen as a time of great humor and festivities, and it is mostly looked forward to because of the entertainment that comes from the genders practicing each others' specialties (men attempt dance or music, women attempt sparring and archery).

Interspecies Relations: ceesslins remain diplomatic whenever they can. This gives them a secret reputation of being smug or foolish, but the diplomacy is treated by kingdoms for their kind offers of trade and peace. Some find jealousy or discomfort about seeing their four arms at work at once, while others find it to be simply useful, and cesslins can often find work easily in trivial tasks that don't demand much strength. Cesslins rarely will bring up a party, but they always try to please. Women in particular are often appreciated, and there is something of a semi-common fetish towards them. Their abilities in war can make things sometimes uneasy between them and mards or kirr tol, who are so involved in war themselves.

Warfare: the cesslin nation is considered to be one of the most dangerous forces in war. Cesslins' abilities with twin bows is infamously deadly at long range, and they can often wield multiple weapons at once. There are also specialized martial arts users who can do amazing damage with their additional arms. Cesslins often feel that since they try so hard at diplomacy that their ferocity in war is fully justified. They are often hesitant to declare war, but will be dedicated to their cause when it is present.
